A Brief History of Our Burial Vault Company
Ray Burial Vault Company in Tyrone, PA, has been building and selling top-quality burial vaults to funeral directors in the Tyrone area for over 85 years. Carl Ivan Ray, Sr., founded the company in a small garage where he used a wheelbarrow to mix concrete and pour it into the vault mold. The company quickly grew, and the Ray family acquired several other vault companies in the 70s.
After Carl Ivan Ray, Jr. took over the company from his father, he expanded the business even further. 1990 Carl, Jr. retired and passed the company on to his sons, James Scott and Matthew Bradin Ray. They continued to run the business until 2000, when Matthew purchased his brother's share of the company.
Today, Ray Burial Vault Company is a third-generation company with 14 employees. In 2008, the brothers built a crematory next to the manufacturing plant, complete with a chapel area for committal services and three full-time certified operators. Ray Burial Vault Company is a trusted name in the funeral industry with a long history of quality craftsmanship and exceptional service.
